"My paintings inhabit a space between representation and abstraction—a threshold I've come to think of as essential."

Emergence 3 Exhibit at Starline: Rebirth
Sept 19, 5-8pm at Starline Factory, Harvard, Illinois
The first two parts of the Emergence Exhibition series, Grief, and Acceptance, were about, to my mind, the internal, personal work of an experience; a sort of solo journey. However, in my life, Healing and Rebirth have been due to interacting with others. I find guidance and support in my groups, as well as my family and close friends. It gets me out of my quagmire and connected with the world. I am very grateful to have been given chances to overcome trials and errors and to come back to be able to contribute to my community.
50 plus years of art activity has given me much time to grow and much to be grateful for. And practicing Tai Chi has helped me understand and see our interconnectedness much more deeply. I know I cannot describe it, so, I keep looking for ways to express all of this in my work.
